Four Cylinder Club of America History Project

I found this photo in an album of mostly hot rod and midget racing photographs.  My interest being primarily sports car related, I paid the owner to scan just this image from the album.  It is a shot of the Victory Banquet of the 1954 Motor Sports Week.  Motor Sports Week, also called Motor Week, was a huge event promoted by the FCCA.  It included a concours, rallies, gymkhanas, road race, and other events that were held over the course of a week.  Only two Motor Sports Week events were held, one in 1953 and the other in 1954.  When the idea of holding another event in 1955, club members revolted, complaining that the event took too much time and energy to carry off.
