I built up a sports car from scratch in 1953-54 using a 918 cc wolseley engine. I won the Sports car club of B.C. championship in 1954, winning 7 and placing 2nd in one. The car known as the Wolseley Special Raced on the west coast placing 2nd at Pebble Beach in 1955 driven by Dennis Crease. I cannot find anything on the web on this Giant killer. Do you have any recollection of my car?

Hi Bill
I am not familiar with that car, although I did look in Art Evans’ Pebble Beach Remembered book and saw it listed in the 1955 program. Their was no listing for the driver, but the owner was listed as Denovan Crees. The car did not appear in any photos published in the book. I have photos of the 1950 and 1951 Pebble Beach Races, but not the 1955. You might want to check with Art Evans himself. You can reach him at agevans@yahoo.com, Best of luck.
